I am not personally familiar with this species, but I have caught some of my tarantulas working and climbing at night ( including one walking on the enclosure top) using a red light above it. Can’t get great pictures because of the redness, but I could watch them and enjoy. Mine are all new worlds and generally not too skittish. That may have helped.
My adult female still hides away most of the time or I may on occassion see her feet appearing round from the back of her "tree" but when she does appear it certainly worth the wait.
Mine does not web as much as before but still very skittish. Slight movement it goes running to its hide. I used a half bark so I can still partly see it.
