This review is long overdue. I have ordered from Eresus Spider Shop before a while back. The packaging was perfect and everything was shipped promptly. Due to the large order I made, I also received a rare freebie Pamphobeteus aquatica (which was AWESOME!). I also received some tongs. These aren't just your average tongs. They are lightweight and like a soft alloy. They can grasp pinhead crickets without killing them, fruit flies and even eggs when trying to separate them while incubating. I LOVE the quality of these tongs! I wish I had gotten some earlier because they are definitely a go-to when it comes to feeding and incubation needs. They also have cool key chains and an awesome stock list! I highly recommend Eresus Spider Shop for all your invert/vertebrate needs!!!! :)

Those are medical quality forceps. I use them in surgery all the time. Cheers

That's awesome! I didn't know that. I noticed that they are a softer alloy. They're not as hard or as thick as my 12" tongs.

I, too, owe Matt and Eresus Spider Shop a review; a tad overdue.

Matt is super down to earth and has a great selection of inverts at his shop in Rancho Cucamonga where I met him and picked up a few pokies. I didn't see the tongs or I'd have snagged a set for myself and grabbed a few pairs for my surgeon buddies, too, naturally.

A+ recommend. I wouldn't hesitate to do business with Matt and Eresus Spider Shop again!

Excellent service. I ordered two G. rosea slings and two tongs and everything arrived on time and safe. Thanks Matt.

I placed an order earlier this week and everything came quickly, perfectly packaged, and all alive and well. This is the second purchase with them and both have gone very smoothly. The selection is quite nice, and I tend to spend a good amount of time window shopping and planning out future purchases. It's nice to see stuff that I don't see on other sites. I've already got a good mental list going for the next order, which will hopefully be sooner than later.

NEGATIVE!!! if you were thinking about jumping on the 70% sale at Eresus do not!!! I bought a female tongmianensis, 3 sellatus, 3 auratus and 2 cyrtopholis Dominican horned. The tongmianensis arrived with hemolymph leaking out of every joint on her body. I purchased this female with a missing leg, however, I noticed a regenerated leg and checked her fangs which are bright red! She is freshly molted and the trauma she has is severe. 1 sellatus molted in transit and survived. A second sellatus was doa and upon inspection it too was freshly molted before shipping. As you can also see from the photos, 2/3 auratus are in extremely heavy premolt and NEVER should have been shipped. I understand mistakes can be made, but Eresus showed absolute blatant disregard for these animals and it is unacceptable. I’m sure I will receive a refund for the doa and possibly the tongmianensis considering the circumstances, however, what I really want is someone to take accountability and apologize for their negligence. I will edit this post if, and when, that happens.

Today Eresus fired Matt Padilla and stated they are no longer responsible for his future actions. I’m sure this wasn’t because of my complaint alone. As a result, I would be open to purchasing them in the future.
What was his role at Eresus? For some reason I thought he owned/ operated it. I think it was called Jurassic Pet or something like that a few years ago before it merged with another operation.

Previously the Spider Room, and before that Jurassic Pets.
Partnership with percentage of ownership changing over time lead to where things are today.
Matt has been in the hobby and business for a long time, I suspect he will bounce back or maybe choose not to. Time will tell.
