Best way to feed slings?

So I have a sling B albiceps and was wondeing what would be the best way to feed them. Do they like it pre-killed or live?

They prefer to hunt live food. Offer a food item no larger than its abdomen and remove it if it's not eaten within 24 hours.

I agree completely with Ennie. T’s can eat killed prey just fine. A piece of superworm makes a fine meal for a sling less than 1 inch DLS.

They do much better hunting prey. But if it is a really small sling and you are to worried you can do a pre killed sling will normal that them there way.

Toss your feeder in....that's the best way. Brachypelma slings are little feeding beasts! I just toss in something the same size they are...if they dont hit it I take it out immediately. I'm never disappointed....I see this 100s of times everyweek.

Years ago, I used pinhead crickets for tiny Brachypelma slings. Now I use red runner roach pinheads which are about the same size, but far easier to manage. All of my Brachypelma slings have always been beastly voracious eaters and I never had any problem getting any of them taking live prey.

Definitely normal, most will retreat to safety to consume their meal.

Just one more voice in agreement with Dave. Mine almost always take their prey back to the safety of their lair to eat.

Mealworm and superworm parts.

It is quite normal for tarantulas to take food back to their burrow. Mine do it often.

I just feed my little slings red runner nymphs. Sometimes I'll crush them a bit so my more timid slings will munch them, but i have never had any problems.

Pre-killed the smallest cricket I had and put it in my A.mods enclosure. It's been sitting there watching it squirm and kick for at least an hour but hasn't gone in to eat. Hasn't eaten any mealworm filets either since I got it. That's the cricket at the corner of the cork bark.

Looks pretty fat to me...I'd put a water bottle cap of water in there. It maybe in premolt.

I have many Ts, however they are all rescue and when I bring them back from the Pepsis Wasp stings they generally devour whatever I drop in the 5 gal tank I keep them in. Shred and go looking for more. After they can get a meal easily I let them go back in my yard.

Yes there is a small dish on the other side. Looking for something bigger but a bottle cap would look like a swimming pool.
