No it's not for mating. I'm wondering if putting some on the top of the enclosure and on the lid would prevent me from tearing the webbing when I go to feed.

Don't worry about destroying the web. T can oroduce enough to rebuild. Don't risk adding anything unnecessary to the enclosure. It's not worth it

They have a endless supply of webbing plus they need something to do anyways. I always tear it down where i dont want it ( like on the lid or doors). They will stop after a while and web up other areas.

I've noticed this as well. Its direct evidence that tarantulas can learn, despite the lie repeated endlessly that they can't.

Also, my pulchra bit me, and I slapped the **** out of her, and she hasn't done it again.
