Hello we are in need of some advise or help. Our pink toe molted about 10 days ago and has eaten only one medium super worm and some of her web that's it. We are concerned because her abdomen is getting super small and she is not even hanging out in her web she made and not eating when we offer it. The super worm she ate was about 3 days ago. But we are concerned because her abdomen is almost smaller than her carapace. Her temperament is very good as well. Please help with anything.

My avic avic eats like a horse most of the time. and her abdomen is small too compared to her carapace. Arboreal naturally have smaller abdomen. hers never gets noticeably bigger after she eats. also, mine made a web to molt and that was the only time she did she hasnt made a web since. she also goes for a couple weeks sometimes without eating. i dont think it is a whole lot to worry about. just make sure she always has water and offer her food as normal. she might pass up a meal sometimes. no biggie. also keep her enclosure on the drier side. not humid up past like the 70% range.

Oh my gosh! You helped my stress level so much! I got my pink toe less than 2 months ago.The first day she/he made a small web. The second night I had her she molted! I freaked out worrying the molt would disfigure her or she’d die.She has cross ventilation , water always. She/he is young. She hasn’t taken food from my tweezers yet but I went back to retrieve the cricket and it looked like half was eaten.I love my T but am worried she’s not eating. the YouTuber “Tarantula Kat” just tweezer feeds all of hers and they once on the food,my T moves away scared.I wish she/he would eventually take a cricket or worm from me so I can definitely know she? has eaten.

I have 4 different avics. One pre kills her food and then goes back and eats it after it’s dead. She isn’t a big eater either. One eats fine, catches and holds till it’s a husk. Another eats sometimes but not always. Another ONLY eats if it’s stone cold dark. Knuckleheads. Every T has its habits and preferred ways of doing things. And that’s ok. What’s not so okay is they can completely change how they do things after a molt. Little shyts. Lol
