Avicularia Avicularia/caribena Versicolor how do you feed them?

They don't want crickets, super worms, horn worms, alive or prekilled. My 1 avicularia has eaten and i believe he is now in premolt, so I guess I understand, but seriously, the other wasn't eating and she/he molted. But it has been 2 weeks since she/he molted and won't eat. The cricket died in the enclosure. The horn worm basically crawled into her web bubble and she is just cohabitating with it. I don't know what to do? I am not worried she gonna die anytime soon, I have been giving water and all the other good stuff but still? Is her enclosure not right for her? Should I try different food item(don't say roaches cause unfortunately, my spiders will die before i bring roaches into my house). As an adult there are two things, I will always have air conditioning and I will never have roaches again. Please help me help my avic feed, thanks so much for any advice!!!

Caribena Versicolor is in the quart container/deli container. My Avicularia Avicularia are in Cereal Containers that I turned into an enclosure.

Thanks again for any and all help and advice. I just don't want them to pass. My Caribena versicolor is just a sling I have had a successful feeding or two putting the meal worm up near the opening of his web sock, but he doesn't take crickets if I leave them on the moss and the Avics, don't eat crickets if they down on the substrate.

How big are they? My C. versi sling (2cm) LOVES bean weevils and they are great for small slings. They also climb so are great for arboreals. I have red runner roaches that he won't touch as they are ground dwellers and he won't come down to eat. Fruit flies are also popular.

Hi
I am yet to have tarantula that is refusing to eat crickets(appropriately sized of coarse) if hungry.
I am 99.9% feeding brown crickets to all my spiders (slings or adults)
The first reversed top enclosure is not ideal..You want the bark to be touching the substrate so prray items can go up.Also avics (C versicolor
too) don't need moss or any other decor on substrate level as it only serves as hiding spots for feeders .
As suggested let us know how large are your spiders and how you keep them(moisture, how often you offer food .....)
Regards Konstantin

Example of what enclosure should look like(spider in pic is 3 inch DLS and enclosure is roughly with dimensions 20x10x30H )
In pic there is no webbing as just housed the spider bit she is in progress of sorting that out)

Let me know if you need me to take more pics. The versicolor lives in his web sock that her built between two pieces of cork bark, so I guess I will take out all the moss and then make sure the substrate is touching the bark or that the bark digs into the substrate so the crickets or other pray items can climb up there and get got.

Where do you order bean weevils?

Hornworms, waxworms etc will at least be likely to pupate - and moths are more vertically inclined. Mine will go for crickets *but* that relies on them seeing them at ground level, as their tripwires are higher up, or the cricket making the foolish choice to climb. Other option is I drop the feeder into a section of webbing. If they're not actively waiting for food I won't do this, but my versicolor acted like they never got fed before this last molt.

I’ve found with arboreal tarantulas that the food they accept most readily are flies and moths. I initially started with calci Worms and wax worms that had pupated into fly/moth and my arboreal loved them. It makes sense since they live in the trees, the insects they’ll come across most often will probably be flies/moths.
I started using captive bred houseflies, greenbottles and bluebottles with great success. Plus they cannot harm the T if left in the enclosure alive.
The only issue with flies is that their lifespan is short and breeding them is a pain so I’ve stopped using them.
Now I’ll prekill/disable a cricket or roach and leave it on its back in the T’s webbing. If it’s hungry it will find it and normally at night when they’re most active. If not take it out and wait a while.

Sometimes they just fast for no apparent reason. Mine have sometimes gone weeks without eating, especially in the winter. Also, a pre-molt fast can also be very long. When they want to eat, they do. Just keep offering something each week, and remove it if it isn't eaten in a day. And try not to worry.

Mine would eat small lobster roaches and superworms when bigger. I raise the lobster roaches so have all sizes.
I'll be looking at those when mine gets a bit bigger...currently happy with fruit flies, bean weevils and the occasional mealworm. Currently on hunger-strike right now and webbing up well...molt impending
