Avic enclosure heads or tails

I have seen these used like this (Heads)
or turned over filling the smaller section with substrate. (Tails)
Pros/ cons?

Substrate goes in the smaller part... They work good as long as you have good ventilation.

I'd use whatever was available. Hell, I got a couple deli cups for free at Wal-Mart. Those work too.

I have a bunch of these. About the same dimensions as a 32oz deli. 4” square 5” high. Will these be tall enough? Rehouse at 2” dls?

I'm a new t owner, but I'd say it could work. Avics are arborial, so, maybe less substrate, and a climb, so yeah. I'd move at 2" inch too. It sounds like good logic to me. I'm definitely no expert.
