Hey
Very new to this. I have an Australian bird eating tarantula which I got in November 2015.
I have noticed that she has been acting a bit weird lately and this morning I noticed one single egg in her enclosure. I went back to take a picture of it so I could find out what was going on and it had gone missing and I found my spider in a protective/aggravated stance withing her burrow.
Firstly.. she has shed two times since I got her..
Secondly.. she has had no contact with any male spiders

Can anyone please give me any advice or information on what may be happening?
Thanks!

Females sometimes make dud sacs, from what I've read. One egg in the middle of the enclosure, though? That's..weird. I would try to get a look inside the burrow without disturbing her too much. If she has molted, and had no contact with males, then it's not viable anyway, so don't worry too much about stressing her out.
