You mentioned her leg is bleeding? I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will be able to help more but from what I've gathered, spiders blood won't clot. I gather some people use either vaseline or cornflour on the wound to stop their injured spiders bleeding out.
I've used The Spider Shop and Bugz UK. I had 2 lovely ones from Bugz UK with my albopilosum arriving far larger than I expected, and they were really helpful too.
The last 2 I've had were listed for rehoming on the Pets4Homes pages: my MF LP, the owner had died, and the C. versicolor I ended...
Skye is my place to go when I need to relax (I've been going there since I was a child). I always rent the same cottage in the grounds of Dunvegan Castle and in the evenings I sit outside with a glass of malt and just take in the view <3
The view of the castle is from my front door, and the...
I have 2 favourites: Laphroig and Talisker (distillers edition). Usually I go for the Laphroig as it's easier to get, but when ever I head up to the Isle of Skye I always head over to the Talisker distillery and buy a bottle.
When I have a university exam I usually get a lift in and...
That was the reason I started getting more Ts! XD
Buying 50 crickets and only using 5 or 6 over a month or so seemed a waste of money. So many of them dropped dead too over a month or 2 too that I figured more tarantulas meant less wasted crickets.
Having said that I'm still on my original...
Having a thread on that would be really useful!
I've already started moving my mature beetles into another enclosure which is set up similar to the one above, but I also want to ask about breeding locusts.
As you may remember I recently rehomed a large female LP, so I needed to buy locusts for...
I know I shouldn't laugh but... XD I'm surprised you haven't renamed her to Houdini!
101 questions again (I'm sorry). When you replaced the top with acryllic (I see you put air holes in for ventillation) how do you fasten the top down? On my screen it looks like you've used silicone, but I'm...
That looks fantastic!
May I ask how big is your LP and how big is her enclosure? I'm looking to buy a new enclosure for mine as hers is a 13" (ish) exoterra cube and I'm guessing she is a good 10"+ in size. I haven't seen her fully extend her legs yet, but her body is at least 4 - 5" long...
Hi,
This lovely girl came to live with me yesterday. I already posted on another thread that her tank was a bit of a mess and that she had a bald back end, but today I managed to snap a couple of pics. Is there anything I need to do to help her? Or is it just a case of waiting for her next...
Quick update:
I collected her today, and I will need to get her a new tank soon as there's not a lot of space in there for her to do a moult.
She has a large bald-patch on her abdomen, some of the area is still covered in short grey fluff, but the majority is pinkish and looks more like bare...
Thanks for all your replies (and link) That's really helpful! :)
I believe she's about 10" and comes with her tank. I gather she usually eats locusts and apparently is not interested in roaches. I also gather she's not been interested in food for a few weeks so may be coming up for a moult...
