For the record, I do believe after looking at this photo again that it is metallica, but at a first glance with the filter it looked to contain almost no blue
@Phil is right. The older the P. metallica gets the darker they turn. I haven't seen males do this because mine have always passed away being blue in color post maturing. I have had older females, though that appear more black than blue. Comes with age.
@spodermin, the key take away from this is that she is likely to be an old lady. Nothing wrong with that of course, if you accept she may not be with you as long as a younger specimen.
It's a old girl...they start getting dark around age 5. Heres a video of @DTG and her mature female. My three ladies are all young and still bright blue so I cant send you a picture of one of mine.
That makes sense why the ones I see on kijiji are always overpriced and this general dark colour. My mets are all slings so I haven't even got the neon blue phase yet let alone this. Honestly very cool that they have a final form so to speak
