Cricket on death row...

Juvenile A. Avic is about to launch an attack on it’s prey, a medium/large cricket. (2nd today/week)
While it's theoretically part of nature, I have to admit that it makes me feel slightly cruel to grab one of those innocent crickets on its delicate legs with my metal tweezers and placing it near my tarantula, giving the cricket its prompt and gruesome death sentence. Not to mention that the crickets often lose a leg during the grab/place process. A rather unfortunate handicap in this situation.

But of course the weekly ceremonial sacrifice makes my little T very happy ...
