Originally thought B vagans when this was rescued but the black seems far too intense to me. with and without flash on both sets of pictures. Approx 5 inch DLS.
Ok ok....in all seriousness, kahlenbergi have a green sheer to their carapace....whether or not they outgrow it (idk)....

It's not epicuraneum because there is no patch on the abdomen that is covered with shorter setae....all abdominal setae appears to be consistent in length.

Vagans setae is usually more red/cremson in color. The abdominal setae here appears more burnt orange (sabulosum) but it could be that this tarantula may need a molt....so again, i am unsure.

My opinion (which is exactly what it is, based on physical characteristics that are extremely difficult to differentiate in above mentioned species) is that it is Brachypelma sabulosum.

Thats odd....i have had vagans that have red setae on the back 4 legs. Not very prominent but you can definitely see the coloration....and these setae have been on every vagans i have owned....

Unless they werent vagans....and i see tint of red setae on the back 2 legs in Phil's photo.
