I was wondering if it was safe to be using bark from my back yard as a hide I cleaned it and baked it to where I think all the suspected parisites and bacteria are dead and if I need to ditch it and buy man made hides instead

As long as it's not pine, cedar, etc, you should be fine. I will say that if you have it in a damp enclosure, it will tend to mold.
