Down here we call the last 2 banana spiders. They're awesome to just pluck off their webs and play with sometimes (always putting back safely, of course)
Those 2, and the jumping spiders would be my favorite true spiders. Brown widows are gorgeous, but a little too hot for my taste
(yes, brown widows, in case you've never heard of them.not brown recluses)
Was sitting outside smoking just now, and got explored by a cute little jumping spider
It actually crawled into my pocket,I had to shake it out (gently, obviously)
That is an Anasaitis canosa, or Twin-flagged Jumping spider. They are small, but very active little things. I have kept a few as pets, and have tons of them where I live.
Out of curiosity, how many species of jumping spiders are there in the USA? I suppose I could google it, but I just got off work, and am therefore lazy til at least tomorrow morning...
