She was a pet hole for the last couple years. 6" when I got her, now pushing 8"+. It was not until recently that she started sitting out in the open. She will head for her hide if disturbed though.

My male hid away until he reached 2" but then stayed on the surface whereas the other one never hid. Neither use their hides now (both 6"+) except to sit on and never run if I disturb them.

When they ask me "WHY!? do you keep those things?" I simply say "they are fascinating. Why do you not keep them?"

I just tell people that they are like tropical fish, pretty, "look at only" pets
