Poecilotheria metallica

Hi all. I was doing some research today and discovered that's Poecilotheria metallica or saphire ornametal is not called gootys as it was in correct and not discovered in the village of Gooty in Asia according to the IUCN red data list.

I have always heard it called the saphire ornamental tree spider.

This species is found in a single location, which is severely fragmented. The extent of occurrence is less than 100 square km. India: Andhra Pradesh: Reserve Forest between Nandyal and Giddalur. Not Gooty as previously stated. www.iucnredlist.org/details/635363/0

Yeah it says one was seen in gonty but it more then likely traveled from its habita thats is about 100 km away right.
