I always used the Tarantula Canada gallery to identify Ts because they show adult males, females and slings of most species but even they haven't been able to keep up. (http://tarantulacanada.ca/info_en.php?page=gallery#Avicularia)

Well kind people, I finally made it back to the house of pets, and I am now finding out that my sling is an

iridopelma sp. Recife. 

turns out I was way wrong
Still pretty stoked though​

You really are lucky: Iridopelma are wonderful, and much rarer to find (at least where I live!).

Congrats. I did have my doubts on Avicularia sp tbh but went along with it.....lol (honest)
