Down 1 more. Looks like the Pcam had a problem with his last molt. My son just brought his enclosure in and he had not moved since we saw him last. No movement when we blow on him. Found his abdomen was all shriveled up when my son moved him. Looks ruptured, only thing I can think is he fell between yesterday and when he molted.

R.I.P. Caesar.

Now i'm wondering if it was a problem with the molt itself, like maybe part of the abdomen was attached after the molt and the molt got stuck and tore his abdomen. When my son brought him in the molt was behind a substrate/web curtain in the half bamboo length he was using as a hide and climbing. Looks like it got stuck in there and he was trying to climb out, then went back in and curled up like we found him. What a way to go :(

My son just called, he's doing water so we can feed when i get home from work, said the Avicularia sp. Peru Purple of mine is dead :( She just molted 5 days ago. Was moving around and active Sunday when i pulled the molt out, seemed fine then.

I'll post pics when i get home. Think this is the first loss that really got me. Had her almost a year and she was so much fun to watch building webs and at feeding time. Now i'll have to go Avic shopping for next payday.

R.I.P. Inca, you'll be missed.

My son says it looks like she bled out. Tear in the abdomen but he couldn't get a pic of it to turn out.

The worst part... i think i did it.

She was sitting near the molt when i pulled it out. I felt it tug but didn't see her move at all, thought it was caught in the web since i was pulling it through a small hole in her tunnel.

On a good note, Bling molted, Redrum, Flash, and Roj are all in premolt. I think Duke molted but he hasn't come out of his hole in months, the roach that went down there didn't come out and I thought I heard scuffing noises so I'm happy he ate.

thanks. i have just under 30 now. i have to wait for some to become males and mature and pass on now (or some other tragedy happens and i lose one) before i can get any more :( I'm totally out of room lol.

Avics are next on my list. i want to try raising a few more of them. The versicolor of my son's is doing very well :) Inca 2 will be the next one i get lol
