hei guys, i have a few new slings that are under half a inch big and i need to go away for 9 days.
my brother in law is going to help me out but we live far apart from each other. whats the longest time appart feeding slings this size without harming them. i feed them the legs of my roaches.
3 of them are b.smithi and 1 is a pulchurmaklassi.

the rest of my collection is fine im just concerned about the babies.

Hi. if it were me i would rather put live feeders in like "forest roaches" small but not if they are up for a molt. crickets i find are the biggest culprits for attacking slings!!! pre killed and segments from decaying food is not good to leave inside any enclosure as it will start to harbor bacteria in certain temperatures and humidity. This is a given fact especially if you have worked in the zoo industry you will know this first hand and irrespective of the species. I do know of a few people do leave food inside but not for longer than a day which is ok but if left longer then u could experience problems. This is only my opinion from the years of working in national parks and specifically zoos where species are kept in an artificial environment. remember there is no rule book on animal husbandry but merely guide lines to which we can follow. Its about trial and error all the time.

Your slings will be fine for 9 days without food. Maybe try feed them a few days before you leave and then take out any boluses or unbeaten feeders the day before you leave.
