It's a prehistoric programming of the brain but it can be overcome. 3 years ago I was terrified of spiders :)

I hope to one day get a snake and conquer my fear but I'm gonna get a centipede first as those buggers also send shivers down my neck lol! I used to be wary of spiders but never really scared... Ts sure have my respect now, they did before but feeling the pain of a bite and the stress caused to the T has made me realise they're not meant to be handled... People will always handle them but I'd urge anyone who does to think about what their reaction would be because in the heat of the moment I nearly launched her :( My advice to everyone is its not worth it... I was meant to get a P.Ornata sling and a springtail culture today but Lee isn't shipping up here due to the weather :(

I'd recommend a Royal Python as a first snake for someone like you, they are chunkier to hold, relatively slow moving and very unlikely to bite. Corn snakes are usually recommended as a starter but they can be very quick and wriggly for a beginner.
    I've just ordered a P. ornate from Jakub :)

    They get to around 4-5'.
I'm also getting a Ceratogyrus marshali and a Sphaerobothria hoffmanni, both horned baboons

Enn is the hoffmanni an old world baboon? I thought they were new world, with urticating hairs and weak venom? On a side note my C marshalli passed on. Old age I believe, she was wild caught and healthy for three years in my care.

The hoffmanni is NW from Costa Rica so maybe I shouldn't have classed it as a baboon.
