Update: Replaced the hide over the weekend, went to feed the T's this morning and no moths were found. Hopefully it was that mysterious brown substance that attracted them and I'm rid of them for good, but I'll be checking to make sure. Thanks for the help!
No new substrate or anything, though tesla does not have a hide (Tried giving him a starter burrow and he just webbed over it) So that may be a factor. I have been spot cleaning as much as I see. Even when she went off food for a spell (I assumed premolt but she's eating again) and there were no...
I was really really afraid someone would say something like that. I didn't feed Archimedes a wax worm since i first got her a few years ago, before a rehousing, so it's not that.
It's not like you said "moths everywhere" but there's at least one or two daily. I'm really apprehensive about...
I've been battling an ongoing battle with what I think are moths. They look like moths anyway, just smaller. Anyway, only one of my T's(Archimedes) has been having them. I've tried killing the humidity (Was already dry, just stopped filling the water dish), drilling more ventilation holes, but...
Well, I woke up about an hour ago, and she still hadn't emerged. I decided to take a shower and ask how long is too long for her to be holed up like this, but when I came back to my room after my shower, she was out, and molted! I'm guessing the exoskeleton is still in her den. :) Thanks for...
My p scrofa stopped eating for a few weeks, went into her den, blocked off the entrance with substrate and webbed it up visibly (very unlike her) I can see some web coming out the back, which looks like a molting mat. I really hate that she's doing this in her hide, because I cant see if...
My b emilia will occasionally wall-hang, but very close to the substrate. I'd say it's a good idea to move him/her to a more shallow enclosure, especially if they have a habit of climbing. I'd also remove the decorative rocks, at least around the edges, because your T could fall onto them, which...
My P Scrofa Archimedes has never really been bothered to burrow, and seems to enjoy her hide just fine, but today, seemingly out of nowhere, she started wandering her cage quite a bit, moved her water dish, began to dig around the corner near it, but then changed her mind, and start digging in...
Ditch the lamp for sure it's not safe for T's as stated by chubbs (Who can be a d*ck but is right here), and unless your house gets much below 68 for a long period of time, I wouldn't use a heating mat either (Especially not with a plastic terrarium), because they may burrow down and get burned...
If your T has little hooks on the underside of his front middle legs, he's probably male. If he his pedipalps are engorged or more bulbous than you are accustomed to, he's probably a male. I'm unfamiliar with anything saying MM T's tend to flee from prey, but that doesn't mean much, I've had no...
Jesus H Christ that is horrific. I'm so sorry for you. Have you checked your other hidden T's to make sure they're not affected by whatever the hell this is?
I try to keep my t's as close to 78 as I can, but I don't have an air conditioner, and I have to keep my room door closed because I'm worried about my cats flea color effecting them. periodically i close her in the back and put a fan in to get some of the cooler air from the rest of the house...
My new b emilia flipped over his water dish (Bottle cap) and rolled it across the cage and leaned it on the opposite end. I woke up to find him leaning in very closely to where his water dish was, and where the spilt water was, which made me think he was thirsty, but I still dont understand why...
Update!
He seems to have settled in quite a bit, ate two superworms since last I posted I'm not one to over feed, but he still had a smaller abdomen than I was comfortable with. We'll be going to once a week now. He's stopped drinking every 10 minutes, but still stays by his water dish, so I'm...
