Based on your photos, my T looks like the first one. But I thought I had a rose hair. I'm a newbie so common terms would help me out.
Does this mean I don't have a rose hair? Or do I still call the porteri a rose hair?
What's the common name for the porteri?
Its been just over a week but she still isn't ready to eat. I gave her 1 cricket and she avoids it if it comes close. It's been offered for a full day/night so I'll remove the cricket and give it to my chicken instead.
She doesn't look much bigger to me but the Rosie color looks...
Ok. Although, isn't this the point of the forum?
When I Google information, I don't know if the source of the opinion can be trusted.
I asked my question here because I think the veteran members can be trusted to know what they are talking about.
As a T newbie, I had never heard anything about...
Look what we found this morning! 2 spiders :D
Used the feeding tongs and pulled it out, no problem.
We'll leave her be a few days and try feeding next weekend.
I know it's nothing new to y'all..But we are loving this!
I've had my Rosie for 7 months. After a 5 month fast, she had finally started eating and I was thrilled.
3 weeks ago she stopped eating and I was fearing another fast... But then I saw this!
Yay, she's molting!
My kids are so excited to experience this for the first time.
You can see the top 2-3" off coco coir is now totally dry but the bottom 4" is still damp.
There is no more condensation on the glass and under the log has become her favorite place to hide (instead of sitting on top of it).
She's in the log, still holding her crickets from last night.
She ate!!!!!!! Finally!! Only took 4 months LOL
She ate 2 crickets and the whole family gathered around to watch. Hopefully the fast is over and eating will be a regular thing!
Does giving her 2 crickets a week sound about right?
Gotcha, thanks for sharing.
I took the plastic off the screen lid because condensation was collecting on the glass...and you all say they need it dry.
Still watching and observing but it seems as though the light, live plant and open screen top are making a difference.
I notice that Jamies Tarantula cages (whoever that is, but they seem popular) are closed box like enclosures with vent holes. Isn't my plastic covered lid with vent slits kind of the same thing?
