Soooo... I'm back, this escalated quickly haha!
They say you buy one and it never ends... Well I sure as hell got the bug no pun intended.
Since getting my GBB who is doing fantastic by the way...
He's gone through one moult, i tried sexing the moult and i'm 99% sure it's a male which is...
Looking for a second T... yep i've got the bug... haha!
Anything considered as long as its docile/not agressive. Skittish is ok (I have a GBB already so..) Was thinking a curly hair as they are common apparently and cheap but they aren't really my type of T..?
Show me what you've got UK peeps :D
My first T and i think i got lucky! My GBB is a complete show off! He's made a nice tunnel web but 95% of the time he's just sat out chilling. He's the perfect display T even if i get close to him on the sofa next to him he doesn't move.
So happy with him... As a bonus heres him after...
Well, you guys were right..
Looking forward to his fresh moult. At this stage (9cm before moult) sexing the T should be possible right?
I've left him/her to it now in a nice warm setting. How long does this process take and how long should it leave him for? I know the fangs are 2 weeks so...
Excellent, how much do they grow per moult? How long does the process take to begin he's been hiding away for about 4 days now, i see they tend to turn over on their backs and then it begins is that correct for all species?
I will leave him/her to it till i see the process begin. then once...
Hey all
Had my GBB for 3 weeks now, First day i got him he was due a feed and i fed him no problems at all. Week two I fed him again on the same day the following week he was lively and showed signs of knowing it was feeding time.. took his cricket no problem at all. After munching this one he...
It would appear he/she was indeed just getting used to things. I fed him again today as he was close to the edge of the tunnel so i think he was trying to tell me something. Took the first one and then waited again so i thought i'd try a second as my crickets are more on the small side than...
Thanks for all the warm welcomes.
Glad to say nearly a week on and he/she is doing well. Took a cricket off me today and then sat out by his tunnel asking for another one! So i tried it, instant catch.
How on earth can they tell it's coming? I don't use the tweezers up close to it as i don't...
Yes I thought the exact same thing. I've ordered another load of substrate luckily he's not really done much climbing (yet) but yes, it is a little low. The springtails underneath.. will they be able to burrow upward toward the top? I also really wish i didn't heave to mess up his/her webbing...
Hi all
I was encouraged buy octanejunkie to make a intro thread and show you all my setup so.. here i am! New to the hobby, I used to be an arachnophobia but steadily got used to them oddly enough by watching YouTube videos. This in turn lead me to want to own one which I now do.
I went for a...
Thanks for all the replies. It's all very helpful information. Good news today, Sid, as I've now called him/her decided to say Hi as i was cooking dinner. I think he may be hungry I know these are heavy feeders but his abdomen is real big so I'm going to put it off till later this week. May try...
Hi all, new to the board and new to the hobby.
I've recently got myself a Green Bottle Blue (Chromatopelma Cyaneopubescens.) I got him last Friday and it's been a great few days so far.
Here he is (I say he, but it's currently unsexed)
I was aware that GBB's webbed up a lot which is...
