    Our Sheds/molts

I couldnt look at the link, cuz Im at work and the page wont load. My method is pretty poor, and I destroy more exuviums than I properly sex, but Ive only been sexing for a couple months now. What I do is, place the molt in a ziplock bag with a piece of moist paper towel, and leave it for a...

    Communal Species

I traded a 12x12x12 exo terra for an 18x18x24 exo terra and now I dont know what to do with it. I was originally planning on turning it into a planted terrarium, but decided I need something more alive in there. Its overkill for any single Tarantula so Im probably going to go communal. I dont...

    Damp Substrate

My wife hates the smell of freshly roasted coco coir. You should have luck finding bags of loose coco at garden centres. Also, its dirt cheap compared to prices at pet stores. I bought a 10kg bale of peat from Home Hardware for $8.99cdn. 11 months later and Im not even a quarter of the way...

    burrows or hides?

Moisten the coco coir first, then firmly pack it. I use straight peat for my fossorials, and have never had an issue with collapsed burrows.

concerns about buying wild caught T.Blondi

For starters, there is little to no proof that the calcium stores found in vertebrates will affect a Tarantulas molting process. This myth was created when someone decided to make the assumption that since other invertebrates can have issues with their exoskeletons when they have too much...

    Greetings!

Congrats on the Tarantula. Warning: She wont be your last;) Officially, the accurate name for your spider is Grammostola porteri. All of the Pink and Grey colour forms have changed, with only the Red Colour Form keeping the name, G. rosea. Oddly enough, its a very simple process to tell the...
