Do a nightly mite-check for starters. Either in the middle of the night or after the lights have been out for a few hours, get up and shine a flashlight into the cage. (Don't turn on any big lights.) Look at the walls, sub, water dish, and any decor. If you see tiny points of light...
I've had babies climb like crazy. From what I've seen, it's pretty normal behavior. Regarding moist sub...it shouldn't be so wet that you can squeeze water out of it, but you do want it damp until the sling is about 2 in.

We have several different kinds of jumping spiders inside the house and out. My 5-year-old brother loves them, he's been greatly influenced by me. ;) Rabid wolf spiders, too...those are cool! My personal favorite though is the Black and Yellow Argiope (scientific name escapes me).
