    When I was a young man, we used to see/catch wild tarantulas moving to the lake from the pastures outside my home in central Texas. The area is semi-dry, average January temps 44-50* F. The tarantulas were dark brown or black and docile. Anyone know what these wild T's are?

    Anyone name their tarantulas?

    I just got my son a juvenile Lasiodora parahybana. We call the spider Rick James. I'm not sure if Rick James is male or female.
