    A.geniculata in almost-headstand position

My young female A.geniculata has rolled some coco fiber substrate into a ball (with maybe a feeder roach inside?) and has been holding onto it while in a head-down position for several DAYS. She has remained motionless that way for so long I thought she might have gotten stuck or something so...

    Hemolymph leak during molt

Brachypelma klaasi, about 3/4 inch, developed a hemolymph leak on chelicera during molt last night. Proved to be fatal, as it never flipped back over and was dead by morning. Posting pictures for educational purposes.

    Molting Upright photo

Just came across my juvenile G. pulchra molting upright. First time I've seen an upright molt in real life. Hope it works out. I'll keep you posted.

    US Casey K's Tarantulas Review

Bought a B. emilia and got a greatly appreciated B. vagans freebie. Cold pack included at no extra charge and slings came in straws which was pretty cute and allowed for very easy transfers to their new homes. Friendly communication and great price. Very happy!

    Polymer clay water dishes

The 12 smallest Really Useful Boxes in photo are the 0.14 liter and the 4 on the right are the 0.3 liter. My local Office Max/Depot had them but you can also get them online and see the whole range of sizes at reallyusefulproducts.com

    Why did my T die?

My adult Ts fast for months at a time. I stopped keeping track of when they last ate because it stressed me out if they didn't eat for a long time. Now I offer food irregularly... Sometimes a couple weeks apart, sometimes a month or 2 apart. For full grown adults with plump abdomens I don't...

    Hello

That's how I got my start 6 years ago. I was out driving around town (Albuquerque, NM) and saw a tarantula cross the road in front of me TWICE IN ONE DAY. I had never seen one in the wild and had never even thought about them before that day. I took it as a "sign" and started researching...

    Greetings from New Mexico

Happened upon this forum recently and seems like a nice bunch of people. I've been on arachnoboards.com for a few years, same username, but thought I'd join here also. I've kept T's for 6 years. Right now I have: -an 8 year old female B.vagans -a 6 year old male G.pulchripes suspected...

    Tarantula Cabinet?

Here's what I did: I converted a small bookcase to a T cabinet. Cabinet is 30x40x12 inches with a shelf in middle. Made simple removable plywood boxes lined with flexible radiant barrier (roll of it from Home Depot, hot glued it in). I taped seedling (not reptile) mats along back with foil...

DIY Blatta lateralis trap for backyard

Made a live trap for the Red Runners that come out on my patio at night (in Albuquerque, New Mexico). It catches 1 to 7 roaches per night, and then I transfer them to an enclosure inside. I use fish food flakes for bait. Never thought to use lats to feed to my T's because I have dubias for...

Yesterday's project: Made 12 miniature water dishes out of bake-able polymer clay for my spiderlings. And also some miniature caves... Can you see one hiding ? Penny for size reference. These enclosures are Really Useful Boxes from Office Max with the top cut out and replaced with...
