Finally managed to get a couple of shots of Lupus, my Nhandu Coloratovillosus, 1 week post molt. Those colours are really starting to pop now. I tried to take the lid off the enclosure, but it was going to bolt if I went any further. All I know is someone's going to need a rehouse before their...
Thanks, great photo. Looks like I’ve got a while before mine gets anywhere near that size then. I got mine in a sling pot with about 1 inch of substrate, and I dug a little starter burrow in one side just in case, but it hasn’t used it yet. For water, I just moistened one part of the substrate...
Finally managed to get to pictures of my C.Versicolor that molted recently. It came out the other night and actually posed for the camera. And I have to say, I'm in love. I can't get over how beautiful it is.
Don't judge me, I couldn't help myself!
I saw these beauties for sale on the So Many Legs website & I just had to have them. Luckily, I don't live a million miles away from them and I offered to pick them up because of the bad weather recently. Andy Ormes is a really nice guy, and it was a...
Good news, I've managed to get the molt out without disturbing the T too much. I made a small cut at the base of the web where the leaves overlap while the spider was up top & managed to grab the molt with tongs and pulled it out. Unfortunately I cant sex it this time as the abdomen was a bit of...
Thanks @Enn49. As with most things it won’t be that simple. The only way to get in with tongs is to go in through the side of the plant, between the leaves and damaging the web. I’ll see what happens in the next few days & take it from there
I have a strange question. My C.Versicolor has molted, so obviously I want to get a look at it to see if I can sex it. The problem I have is that it has molted inside the same bromeliad it has also built it's home in (see the picture). I don't want to destroy the web if I can help it, so here's...
I agree with you. I bought 3 sling from Phil last year too and I couldn't be happier with them. Great guy who takes the utmost care with his T's. Packed more carefully than I've seen from shops and perfectly healthy on arrival.
So pleased, managed to find a Euathlus sp Red over the weekend for £20. It's about 2.5 - 3 inches in size & a suspected female. Guess I’ll find that out for sure after it’s next molt, but fingers crossed. so docile it’s not true, walks out onto you hands every time you open the enclosure, no...
@Enn49 , @Arachnoclown Thanks guys. You know what it's like when you're a noob  Any question you ask seems daft, but without asking you'll never learn.
I'm new to tarantula keeping, so this might seem like a pretty stupid question to more experienced keepers, but can someone tell me if my Caribena Versicolor is going into premolt? It normally hangs out at the top of it's web tunnel (especially at night), but for the last few days it's...
