I looked up the red runner, and it seems that is is already established in Florida.
It does say that it now occurs in South Carolina . . . so I'm betting it's in Florida.
As I said, I'm not technologically sophisticated, and couldn't figure out how to get the camera to focus and magnify properly. I am an older person who struggles with using computers.
No luck. Just back and forth about how I didn't send a photo when the spiderling was too small to get a good picture (I'm older, and I struggle with computers).

That actually does makes sense.
I imagine that a tarantula from, say, South America might be more vulnerable to parasites from Florida for the same reason why Native Americans were vulnerable to European diseases that they hadn't been exposed to.
I'll stick to domestic sources of feeder...

Obesity is a killer . . . whether in people or in domestic animals.
I agree that tarantulas can become obese, as they don't have to flee from predators, or store body fat for hibernation while in captivity.
Even so, I have--in the past--had a tendency to overfeed...
