    What's in a name?

Agreed! Lovely name for a lovely creature.

    What's in a name?

I named mine Malachite (Mali for short) and intend on naming my future T's other gemstones, like Jasper, Peridot, etc. I may have gotten the idea from a cartoon. Cough cough.

    Enclosure Decor

I have a brachy albopilosum and I've been meaning to deck out her enclosure for a while now. At the moment she's got half a plastic flower pot, substrate and a thermometer in it. It's a bit dull. Does anyone have any ideas on how to make her home a bit fancier without causing her any discomfort?

    Tarantula Transportation!

Haha I didn't think it'd be that simple! Thanks :)

    Tarantula Transportation!

I am just about done exams and I'm heading home for the holidays - I live about 1.5 hours away from my parents' house. What's the best way to transfer my T? Luckily I'm getting a ride from my boyfriend (so I don't need to take the bus) but I'm worried because she molted about a week ago, and she...

SO my brachy albopilosum just finished moulting yesterday. When would be a good time to feed her? I was thinking this upcoming Friday (when I usually feed her) but does she need more time? (Also, she's so much bigger now. It's kind of disorienting! What happened to my tiny baby spider? Lol)

A Good (second) T for a Cautious Newbie?

Thanks all. I like the L. parahybana and B. smithi a lot. The hard part now is deciding between the two ;)

A Good (second) T for a Cautious Newbie?

P.S. - I am also curious about age. Would it be best to get an adult or start a little younger? I have a juvi right now and she's really skittish. Do they slow down as they age?

A Good (second) T for a Cautious Newbie?

Hey guys, I was thinking of getting a second T when the next expo rolls around (I think there's one in March 2016). Just curious as to what you think would be good for a noob. I've seen a lot of arguments about the ladder system and whether or not I should follow it; I like to think of myself...

    New tarantula

Very true. It is a good think to have experience in the hobby before you start jumping to a more complex T. But if you think you're capable, you should be able to get whatever kind you want, I think.

    New tarantula

My only problem with getting a fancy T would be the difficulty in keeping it. I got a typical starter T because they're generally pretty tough. But hey, research is the key here. If you are capable of taking good care of it then by all means. I didn't want to risk it because I'm a weenie. :P

    Clarification

Yeah, this basically fixed my problem with it. You can typically get little room heaters for $40-80 at Canadian Tire.
